Maybe you’ve heard our CDC Director Rochelle "Impending Doom" Walensky stated that she isn't sending her own child to summer camp this year. Here's the clip:
(Notice how she conflates cases last year while testing was limited to cases this year with over 1.5 million tests per day...)
She thinks summer camp is unsafe for her child even as her own agency reports just 282 deaths involving Covid in the 0 to 17 age group in the nearly 18 months since the pandemic began making it clearly less dangerous to children than seasonal flu. Camp was safe for kids LAST YEAR, and with vaccines available to adults it's safe to everyone NOW. For the vast majority of healthy children the car ride to camp is many times more dangerous to them than Covid!
I see three possibilities for Mrs. Walensky's behavior.
She hasn't reviewed her own agency's data. In which case she is Negligent and should be Fired.
She's reviewed her own agency's data, and has failed to properly interpret it. In which case she is Incompetent and should be Fired.
She's reviewed her own agency's data, and she understands the comparative risks Covid poses to children, but still she keeps her child out of summer camp due to irrational fear. In which case she's Psychotic and should be Fired.
I'm not seeing a way that the CDC Director shouldn't be Fired over this issue, among the many other insane guidelines her agency has produced recently.
The Texas Neanderthal experiment was over two months ago. The Florida anti-lockdown experiment began the better part of a year ago. The Georgia "Experiment in Human Sacrifice" began over a year again. All of these went against CDC guidance. All turned out to be correct.
Why does anyone listen to these risk averse morons anymore?
I'll say, as someone who began ignoring CDC guidance nearly a year ago, it's oddly amusing watching the agency lose every shred of credibility it once had. Of course it would be a lot funnier if our children, economy, and society weren't casualties of this process.
Anyway 0 and 2....
