The order advises all county residents to "voluntarily" shelter at home for the next 30 days, but there are some mandatory teeth to the order too. The order BANS all "Large Gatherings", defined at 50 people indoors or 100 people outdoors (unless "socially distanced").
The order goes a step farther and states that ANY gathering which includes "persons who are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19" are limited to just TWELVE people!
WHAT?!?
So who is considered "high risk of severe COVID-19" you might ask?
The list is 19 conditions long, all very broad. It includes:
Cancer
Heart Conditions
Diabetes
Pregnancy
Obesity
Overweight (BMI of 25>=)Â (This is insane, it's over half the adult population!)
Smoking (current or FORMER!)
Substance Abuse Disorders
and many others…
This list is so broad that, effectively, any gathering over 12 people is banned in Sonoma County for at least the next month!
Forget bringing your vax card, to hold a gathering with greater than 12 people, each guest would essentially be required to bring the full write up from their latest physical examination. Which might be exactly what our "Public Health Betters" want...
We're already mandating a treatment, the Covid vaccines, that offers no public benefit, only a private benefit. The Mandators say they are still necessary since, as they see it, vaccines can keep one out of the hospital. But so would getting in better shape, or quitting smoking, and so on, were they going to start mandating those things too? Be careful what you ask for...
