On Claims of Healthy Young People Dying From Covid
And Why You Should Always Be Very Suspicious of Such Claims
These days, as our Public Healthy Betters continue to push for universal Covid Vaccination (in vain), there is a massive push to get every last young and health adult to get vaccinated. This demographic is the least at risk from Covid (although still at much higher risk than children), so the government and media have often turned to fear to motivate this group throughout the pandemic. It’s not rare these days to find news stories of unvaccinated young people succumbing to Covid, but very often these stories collapse under further examination.
I was recently listening to the radio when an example was given of three healthy, unvaccinated young persons that had all recently died of Covid in the same local area. The example was void of any additional facts, such as the location where this occured, the age of the persons involved or any other details or specifics about the cases of the three supposed Covid-related fatalities.
You see, I'm kind of like a dog with a bone for these things. I've looked into a number of these hyperbolic claims on healthy young people dying or being hospitalized from Covid and they very rarely turn out to be true. 3 healthy young people dying from Covid all at once in the same area is incredibly hard to believe!
For example:
The largest county in the country is Los Angeles county, with about 10 Million people. It's been hit hard by Covid, and were it its own state it would roughly be in the top 10 for Covid deaths per capita. (side note: LA had some of the tightest Covid restrictions last winter, which tragically did not work)
And yet... LA County has recorded less than 200 deaths with Covid in persons under age 30! Which works out to about 10 per month. The vast majority of these are in persons with multiple health issues. Based on CDC data we expect only 5 to 10% (or less) of those deaths to be in healthy individuals with no comorbidities.
This works out to an average of 0.5 to 1 Covid death in a healthy person under age 30 per month. In a county with 10 Million people!
So when anybody claims they know of 3! such occurrences, all very recent, in the same town, my "fake Covid info radar" lights up!
So if you hear of such a claim, you ought to be very suspitious. The claim should be backed with specifics that a verifiable. If those facts aren’t present, you can safely assume the claim if fake.
Anyway 0 and 2…
