Popular Podcaster Joe Rogan made headlines recently by making stirring statements opposing Covid Vaccine Mandates, explaining that once we give powers to the government they are reluctant to give them back…
“They are not going to give that power up. They are not going to. They are going to find a reason to continue to use that. If they can figure out a way to force you into carrying papers, into carrying something that lets you enter businesses, or lets you do this, or lets businesses open… As soon as you give politicians power, any kind of power that didn’t exist previously, historically they don’t relinquish that power, they find new reasons to use it.”

Joe Rogan gets it! Covid Vaccine Mandates make terrible policy, and they are a startling increase in the government’s control over our lives. Why would we give them this power especially when there is No End Point Attached?
Our Public Health Betters tell us that Vaccine Mandates are essential now to bring the Pandemic to an end. Fauci explained his preference for mandates by stating:
"I know people like to have their individual freedom and not be told to do something, BUT I think we're in such a serious situation now, that under certain circumstances, mandates should be done."
How could someone heralded as being so intelligent say something with such ignorance of history?
People don’t just “like their freedom”, the primary role of Government is to protect personal Liberty!
If Fauci et al think the pandemic is serious now, with vaccines ubiquitous and available as Personal Protection for all who want them, and while the death rate is still near pandemic lows, When Will It Ever not be “Serious”? When will it Ever be “Safe Enough” to end Vaccine Mandates?
When everyone is vaccinated? – IT will never happen, there will always be a sizable minority of the population who forgo the vaccine. What then?
When enough people are vaccinated that the virus is “under control”? – Look around the world, some of the most vaccinated countries such as Israel or Iceland are still dealing with surges and we will never be rid of the virus, the end game of this pandemic is an endemic virus.
Maybe once a “dangerous variant” like Delta is no longer around? – Just like with Flu, there will be new variants of Covid every year causing endemic disease. There will always be Covid deaths to count if we so choose.
Will we mandate booster shots against Covid variants once those are approved? Will we make the mandate apply to every annual booster?
There is no logical end point to vaccine mandates that doesn’t just come from admitting that the Entire Exercise is Pointless.
The Covid vaccines offer fantastic protection but as the CDC admits they allow too much transmission to eradicate the virus. These are not like the measles or mumps vaccines which can bring a virus to heal, the Covid shot is much more like the Flu Shot. You will take it every year if you want protection, but take it or not you may still get the virus and the virus will spread throughout society each season.
Whether or not our government leaders understand this reality, they seem eager to wield this new found power to shape the public to their whims. There are politicians that salivate at China’s system of Social Credit to control their citizenry. We would be foolish to think that once we become adjusted to “showing our papers” at every business these politicians wouldn’t expand that system to other aspects of life beyond health. This will not end well.

That’s what’s going to happen with the vaccine passport. That’s what’s going to happen if they close borders. You can’t enter New York City unless you have your papers! You can’t go here unless you have that! You can’t get on a plane unless you do what I say.”
Or as Ron DeSantis recently stated:
"We can have a free Society, or We can have a Biomedical Security State."
The solution is simple. Reject this policy before it takes root! We don’t need vaccination mandates and our Liberties are too valuable.
