One Sentence Summary of Biden's Covid Anniversary Speech
And what should be Covid's Anniversary Date?
Today Biden gave his first live address to the nation. A bizarre and woeful harangue. You can watch it for yourself here:
Here's Biden's Speech summarized in one sentence:
"Thanks to my administration, if you work hard, and don't get complacent, I will allow you to do what Florida has been doing for the past 6 months..."
It is incredible how low the Biden administration can set the bar, and it is a tragedy that the media let them get away with it. The administration races to front of the parade on vaccines, takes credit for the downturn in Covid as if it was something they caused, and then sets such easily achievable goals that they are assured of a "mission accomplished" celebration in a few months.
Also, they use the date of March 11th to make the anniversary of the pandemic becuase that is the date the WHO formally declared a pandemic. But to me that date doesn’t fit. As for when I would claim the Pandemic began:
I also use March 16th. It marked the beginning of "15 days to Slow the Spread", it was the start of the nation's first lock down in the SF Bay Area, and the start of nation wide school closures.
In time, history will remember 2020 for the complete folly that was the lockdown. It was a panicked pandemic response that went counter to all our government's pre-written pandemic plans, breached basic public health ethics, and trampled on our basic rights. As such, it seems fitting to mark the beginning of that folly.
Anyway 0 and 2...
