In-N-Out won't be taking part in San Francisco's vaccine mandate.
They were shut down by the city's health department for not checking customer vaccine ID upon entry. The store was closed and will now reopen without being allowed to host indoor diners. A company spokesman said:
"As a Company, In-N-Out Burger strongly believes in the highest form of customer service and to us that means serving all Customers who visit us and making all Customers feel welcome. We refuse to become the vaccination police for any government"
Way to go In-N-Out! They were already by my favorite burger chain, now that is doubly so!
Now granted, the company has just one location in San Francisco, and as a highly successful burger chain (over 350 locations) which focuses primarily on drive through dining this is a very small gesture which will likely have very little impact on their business. This is likely the only In-N-Out locale currently affected by such mandates, and I'm sure the publicity bump from this move will outstrip any lost sales in SF 100 fold!
But it's nice to see that at least one corporate entity has the stones to stand up to the madness.
Vaccine mandates are discriminatory coercion, and In-N-Out Burger seems to understand that the best response is to simply not comply. I guess that's what their hamburgers are all about.
Anyway 0 and 2...
