There have been so many mistruths spread by the Public Health establishment during the Covid pandemic with the efficacy of masks, the risks to children in schools, the benefits of lockdowns, and the necessity for universal vaccination being some of the worst. But also up there on that list is the discussion of "Long Covid" as a serious threat.
Long Covid is a useful arrow in the public health quiver to keep us all afraid of Covid. Even if you were young and healthy and at little risk of severe illness from Covid, that wouldn't stop the threat of Long Covid. This is because, as we were told, anyone could get it, even after a mild illness. And the symptoms were frightening, ranging from "Brain Fog" to Heart Inflammation to the dreaded "Covid Toe"...
I still hear this ad on the radio nearly every morning on my drive to work. The ad warms that “anyone can get Long Covid”, and urges that “Getting vaccinated against Covid-19 is the best way to prevent Long Covid”:
Note that not only is the evidence of Long Covid suspect, there is even less evidence that vaccination can prevent it…
But while the media and public health are more than willing to spread (mis)information about Long Covid with certainty, actual studies on Long Covid have been few and far between, and have mostly been questionnaires without robust controls.
However, just publish is a large, longitudinal cohort study backed by the National Institute of Health which compared participants recovering from Covid-19 infection to control participants without a history of Covid. The study compared what factors would lead to patients developing Long Covid, defined as any form of Postacute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC)

The results:
The only factors which were statistically significant in predicting that a participant would develop Long Covid (PASC):
Female
History of Anxiety Disorder.
Further, of the participants suffering from Long Covid the study could not identify any objective abnormalities on diagnostic testing to explain the ongoing symptoms:
Simply put, Long Covid appears to be a Psychosomatic Anxiety Disorder likely exacerbated by two years of media fear porn over Covid.
Anyway 0 and 2...
